Auto Layout

What is Auto Layout?

Picture this: effortlessly adding or deleting products within subcategories, orchestrating custom sections tailored to your taste, and seamlessly reordering items between categories. With Auto Layout, you can do all this and more. It allows you to create longer form menus quickly and easily.

Auto Layout even grants you the power to toggle between single or dual-column menus, adjust margins, manage prices, and update currency with the click of a button. We've reduced the manual pain of creating long menus, but we've still maintained an element of flexibility to allow you to tweak things just to you and your customer's liking.

Getting Started with Auto Layout

We've designed Auto Layout with multi-page menu in mind.

To get started, choose a Create your Own template from the home page of hyble. Then by selecting the Auto Layout option from the left-hand navigation panel on design canvas, you can choose the items you would like to add, and hyble will take care of the rest.

Changing the alignment of products, the spacing between them, and enabling or disabling images can be done within the "Settings" and “Format” tabs, like how you would with Menu Sections.

Adding Products

To add products, select the “Add products to your menu” option. You can then either search for specific items or navigate through categories to choose what you need.

Once selected, the items will be automatically placed within the corresponding subcategory.

Proceed by clicking “Continue” to see your items added to the second page of the menu, where you can further refine the section titles to your preference.

Selecting All Items in a Subsection

When selecting products to add to your menu, if you want to add all items from a subcategory (i.e. bottles of whiskey) you can go to the subcategory, click the checkbox at the bottom-right of the list and then click “Add Products” - this will add all items from the selected category to your selected products.

Then, just click “Add Products to Menu”, and they’ll automatically populate on the menu.

Customer Products Management

If you have customer-specific products that haven't been uploaded yet, you can easily add them. Access the "Customer Products" option, on the far right-hand side. Any modifications can be made directly on the canvas.

For more information on adding products, please see our article here: Adding Custom Products to a Menu Section

Deleting Products or Sections

To remove products that you've accidentally added or no longer need, simply select the trash icon on the Manage Products screen.

If you’re wanting to delete an entire section, you can do so by selecting the three dots to the right of the section in the “Manage Products” section.

Reordering Products

You can easily change the order in which products appear on the menu, either from the Product Picker window or from the side panel in hyble. Simply drag the 6 dots next to the product name in either view, and reposition the serve to its desired location.

Creating Custom Sections

To create custom sections such as "special wines," simply hit the "add section" button in the manage products window. This will append a custom section to the bottom of your menu. You can then drag items into it or utilise the three dots on the left side panel of the canvas.

Be careful when deleting custom sections, as all items within them will also be deleted. A warning will be displayed to alert you of this.

Managing Overflowing Content

You might receive the below error if you add too many products for the size of menu that you have selected.

You cannot check out until you have fixed this error. To fix the error you could remove some items from your menu, reduce the font size, reduce spacing or reduce the length of product descriptions, hiding options in the format tab.

All of these changes will help to fit the contents of your menu within the available pages.

Please Note: The "Copy Page" functionality is not available when using Auto Layout.
