Printing your Customers Designs with hyble

When using hyble to print a design provided by your customer, ensuring optimal image quality is crucial for achieving professional results. This guide explains the key requirements for image quality, focusing on DPI (dots per inch), dimensions, and file format.

Why Image Quality Matters

The quality of your printed materials heavily depends on the resolution and format of the images you upload. Low-quality images may appear blurry or pixelated when printed, which is why it’s essential to follow these guidelines.

Key Requirements for Image Uploads

1. DPI (Dots Per Inch)

  • Minimum Requirement: The image must have a minimum of 300 DPI for print. This ensures crisp and clear results.
  • What is DPI? DPI refers to the number of dots printed per inch. A higher DPI means better print quality.

2. Pixel Dimensions

  • To determine the required pixel dimensions for your image, use the following formula:
Print Size (in inches) x 300 = Required Pixels (Width and Height)
  • Example: If your print size is 10 inches by 10 inches, the required pixel dimensions are:
    • 10 x 300 = 3000px by 3000px.
  • For measurements in centimeters (cm):
    • First, convert to inches by dividing the cm value by 2.54.
    • Then, multiply by 300 to get the pixel dimensions.

3. File Format

  • Always save and upload your image as a PNG file. This format retains high resolution and transparency, ensuring your design looks as intended.

FAQs

Q: Can I upload a JPEG instead of a PNG? A: We recommend using PNG files for the best quality. JPEGs may lose resolution due to compression.

Q: What happens if my image is less than 300 DPI? A: Images below 300 DPI may print with noticeable blurriness or pixelation. Always ensure your image meets this standard before uploading.

Q: How do I check my image’s DPI? A: Use editing software like Photoshop or free online tools to check and adjust your image’s DPI.

Q: Can I use a PDF file instead of an image? A: hyble does not support uploading PDF files directly to the platform. Your PDF will first need to be converted to a PNG, and then uploaded using the instructions above
